• Search queries: Location names you search for are passed to our tide data service to retrieve results. These are not linked to your identity.

• To provide tide predictions for locations you search or your detected location.

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Location Permission

• Location access is optional. We request your device location only to automatically find the nearest tide prediction station.

• Location data is used in real-time and is not stored after your session ends.

• You can deny location permission and search manually at any time.

Third-Party Services

• Tide data is sourced from the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) Admiralty Tidal API. Your search query or coordinates are sent to this service to retrieve tidal events.

Children's Privacy

• Shore Check is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

• We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.

Data Safety (Google Play)

• Data collected: Optional approximate location (not stored).

• Data shared: Location coordinates and search queries are sent to the UKHO Admiralty Tidal API solely to retrieve tide data. No personal data is sold or shared for advertising.

• Data encryption: All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
